Elmer Holmes Bobst Library HVAC Energy Efficiency Project Supported by Wallace Eannace

Wallace Eannace provided energy efficient HVAC system design consultative services to the project team of NYU’s Division of Libraries, Elmer Holmes Bobst Library. To ensure building performance requirements were met and taking Local Law 97 into account, highly efficient HVAC equipment was selected for this project.

About the Project

The striking, 12-story Elmer Holmes Bobst Library, designed by Philip Johnson and Richard Foster, is the seat of the Dean of Libraries and central to the intellectual life of NYU’s Washington Square-based students and faculty. Bobst Library houses more than four million volumes, 53,320 serial titles and over 43,000 linear feet of archives; the libraries catalog also provides NYU’s global community with access to thousands of electronic resources. The library receives 10,000 visits per day and circulates 159,000 items annually. Bobst Library offers more than 2,600 seats for student study.
