Wallace Eannace provided energy-efficient heating, cooling, and domestic hot water system design assist services and equipment sourcing through its wholesale distribution network to the project team at 586 River Avenue In The Bronx. To ensure building performance requirements were met and taking Local Law 97 and 154 into account, highly efficient equipment was selected for this project, including but not limited to Lochinvar condensing boilers, Xylem Bell & Gossett pumps, drives, & heat exchangers.
About the Project:
586 River Avenue is the site of a new Success Academy Charter School in the Concourse section of The Bronx. The six-story school will be minutes from Yankee Stadium and comprise around 300,000 square feet.
The development site is alternatively addressed as 101 East 150th Street.
The ground floor of the building will have classrooms, lecture halls, and a gymnasium. On the upper levels, there will be two separate cafeterias, multiple classroom floors, a conference room, a gymnasium, several outdoor terraces, a dance studio, and a nurse’s room.
When in full operation, the facility will serve 2,400 children in kindergarten through 12th grade. Success Academy currently operates eight schools in The Bronx and a total of 47 schools in New York City.
