Wallace Eannace provided energy-efficient heating, cooling, and domestic hot water system design assist services and equipment sourcing through its wholesale distribution network to the project team of the Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion at North Shore University Hospital, located at 300 Community Drive in Manhasset, Long Island. To ensure building performance requirements were met and taking Local Law 97 and 154 into account, highly efficient equipment was selected for this project, including but not limited to Lochinvar condensing boilers, Xylem Bell & Gossett pumps, drives, & heat exchangers.
About the Project:
Skanska has announced the completion of the Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion at North Shore University Hospital, located at 300 Community Drive in Manhasset, Long Island. The structure spans 288,000 square feet and will enhance the hospital’s programs in cardiac care, neurosurgery, and organ transplantation. The tower, constructed by Skanska and made possible by a donation from Attilio and Beverly Petrocelli, will feature 18 operating rooms and 132 intensive care rooms. Skanska utilized cutting-edge technologies including drones and 3D modeling throughout the project’s design and construction.
Of the 18 operating rooms, three rooms will be used in a hybrid context, combining traditional surgical spaces with image-guided interventional suites. These hybrid rooms are a notable upgrade to North Shore University Hospital’s critical care capabilities. The pavilion will serve as the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital’s new home and include a concierge entrance for cardiac patients.
